About Course

The CCTV Surveying Principles online course is designed for any professional involved in maintenance or condition assessment of below ground drainage systems. CCTV assessment using MSCC5 coding is described extensively. This is a CPD e-Learning course and includes basic drainage concepts, ownership, legislation and regulatory requirements, pipe condition coding definitions, serviceability and remedial recommendations. The course is designed for new or experienced operatives involved in drainage investigation and assessment.

Drawing a Site Plan
An important aspect of any drainage survey is the provision of a site plan that relates to the survey report information. This will help the client understand where their drains and drainage apparatus is as well aiding the drainage contractor when they are considering remedial recommendations.

Investigation and Reporting
Considering the correct methods for inspecting drainage systems to ascertain their condition. In this module we discuss methods and best practice when surveying drainage systems.

Understanding condition observations and defect codes for drainage surveys.

Structural Observations and Defects
Examples and definitions of structural defects such as cracks, fractures, joint issues, holes and breaks.

Operational Codes and Descriptions
Describing defects that affect the operational capacity of drains and sewers

Construction Observation Codes and Descriptions
In this module we are looking at changes in the fabric of the drain or sewer between manholes and noting these in a quick and accurate format.

Miscellaneous observation Codes and Descriptions
This module covers the condition codes that don't fall into the other categories. These are generally not related to defective areas.

Observation Understanding Test
This is a multiple choice test of your observation and defect understanding. There will be 20 images of defects or observations. You will select what you think is the correct definition. It is recommended you complete this assessment on a large screen device with a mouse.

Repair Recommendations
The best practice for remedial recommendations based on drainage survey results is discussed in this module.

  • We provide a free Induction Course that all candidates should complete prior to starting a full course.

Requirements

  • If you want to complete any of our courses, please complete the Induction Course first. This is a free course and provides guide lines for course completion.
  • A copy of the latest edition of the WRc Manual of Sewer Condition Classification is advised but not required. The training course covers MSCC5 coding in depth and tests candidates on defect interpretation.
  • The WRc Drainage Repair Book is recommended but not essential.
  • This is a CPD course and can be used as evidence of CCTV inspection and assessment certification of drainage systems.
  • Once completed successfully the candidate will receive a confirmation certification.
