About Course

CCTV Surveying Principles is designed as a CPD course for those who are either unfamiliar with CCTV Inspection procedures or those that that require more in depth training.

The course concentrates on setting up a survey, how the reporting process works and the definitions of observations and defects. This course also covers remedial and repair recommendations.

Course Content

Working Safely
It is important that when working on drainage systems you are not endangering yourself, other workers or the general public. This module covers basic health and safety regulations and safety issues.

Drainage Design
Increase your knowledge on drainage appliances, assets, general design and typical systems.

Drawing a Site Plan
An important aspect of any drainage survey is the provision of a site plan that relates to the survey report information. This will help the client understand where their drains and drainage apparatus is as well aiding the drainage contractor when they are considering remedial recommendations.

Investigation and Reporting
Considering the correct methods for inspecting drainage systems to ascertain their condition. In this module we discuss methods and best practice when surveying drainage systems.

The CCTV Survey: Quality First
This module covers the CCTV survey and how to ensure the you get the best results and provide a quality survey.

Survey Reporting
How to code and classify using BS EN 13508-2 based definitions.

CCTV Survey Condition Observations
Understanding condition observations and defect codes for drainage surveys.

Structural Observations and Defects
Examples and definitions of structural defects such as cracks, fractures, joint issues, holes and breaks.

Operational Codes and Descriptions
Describing defects that affect the operational capacity of drains and sewers

Construction Observation Codes and Descriptions
In this module we are looking at changes in the fabric of the drain or sewer between manholes and noting these in a quick and accurate format.

Miscellaneous observation Codes and Descriptions
This module covers the condition codes that don't fall into the other categories. These are generally not related to defective areas.

Observation Understanding Test
This is a multiple choice test of your observation and defect understanding. There will be 20 images of defects or observations. You will select what you think is the correct definition. It is recommended you complete this assessment on a large screen device with a mouse.

Repair Recommendations
The best practice for remedial recommendations based on drainage survey results is discussed in this module.
